Healthy Animals
We call our meat HälsoGris® (Linderöds pigs), HälsoOx™ (Rödkulle cattle), HälsoKalv™ (Rödkulle calves), and HälsoLamm™ (Värmland sheep). This means that we only use meat from animals that have been healthy — that is, animals that have been free from illness their entire lives and have therefore never been medicated. We are like no other
At Ängavallen’s family farm, our animals — all of which are natural heritage breeds — roam freely outdoors all year and live as they are meant to. Sows and piglets, ewes and lambs, cows and calves stay together for as long as they wish — even the cows that we milk. The pigs are free to root and explore in the fields to their heart’s content.
Our animals experience a completely stress- and anxiety-free slaughter in our own on-farm slaughterhouse, naturally without any transportation. This is a very important part of responsible animal husbandry, ensuring care for each individual animal from beginning to end.
